Safe Use of a Jump Starter

Aug 15, 2025 Leave a message

1. Inspect the device before use.

Check the battery level: It's best to keep the jump starter at over 80% to increase the chances of a successful start.

Check the cable: Check the clips and wires for damage, and check if the metal clips are rusted.

Read the instructions: The operating procedures may vary slightly between brands, so it's best to review them beforehand.

2. Connect the battery correctly.

Connect the red clip to the positive terminal (marked with a "+" sign on the battery).

Connect the black clip to the negative terminal (marked with a "-" sign on the battery).

3. Start the car.

After connecting the clips, wait a few seconds for the current to stabilize.

Then turn the key or press the start button normally to start the car.

After successfully starting, remove the black clip first, then the red clip.

4. What to do if the jump start fails.

If the jump start fails the first time, wait 1-2 minutes and try again.

Do not try more than three times in a row, as this may damage the battery or the device.

If it still doesn't work, it may be due to battery degradation or other issues, and the car should be inspected.

5. Safety Precautions

Do not leave the battery clipped for extended periods of time; remove it after it has successfully started.

Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight or freezing temperatures; this will shorten its lifespan.

Do not allow the clip to contact metal objects to prevent short circuits.

Use the original charger to ensure power supply safety.

6. Routine Maintenance

Recharge the battery every 2-3 months, even if it is not used frequently.

Store in a dry, cool place, away from moisture.

Check the battery level before traveling long distances to avoid a dead battery at a critical moment.
