How to choose the right jump starter for your vehicle?

Aug 08, 2025 Leave a message

1. First, consider your vehicle. - Choose the right current.

Different vehicles require different peak current outputs from their jump starters:

Motorcycles and small-displacement sedans (1.0L-2.0L): 150A-400A is generally sufficient.

Ordinary family sedans (2.0L-3.5L): 600A-1000A is recommended.

SUVs, diesel vehicles, light trucks, and vehicles over 3.5L: At least 1000A, or even 1500A or higher.

Commercial diesel vehicles, pickup trucks, and large-displacement vehicles: 2000A or higher is recommended.

2. Battery capacity does not equal current output. Be clear!

Many people mistakenly believe that larger capacity is better. In fact, the more important factors to consider are:

Starting Current

Peak Current

Capacity (e.g., 10,000mAh, 20,000mAh) primarily affects the number of starts, not whether the battery can actually start.

3. Check for safety features

A high-quality jump-start power supply must have the following protections:

Overcurrent protection

Overcharge and over-discharge protection

Short-circuit protection

Reverse polarity protection

Automatic heating at low temperatures (suitable for cold regions)

ultra-safe to use

4. Are the extra features worth it?

Many jump-start power supplies now not only jump-start cars but also:

Charge phones and tablets (with built-in USB ports)

Serve as emergency lighting (with flashlight function)

5. OEM/ODM support

If you are a buyer or e-commerce seller, we recommend choosing a supplier that meets the following criteria:

✅ Supports OEM/ODM customization

✅ Has a real factory presence

✅ Has quality inspection reports and export experience

✅ Has a reasonable minimum order quantity and stable supply
